Mealy Amazon Parrots belong to the larger species within the Amazon parrot family. Fully grown, they typically reach an average length of approximately 16 inches (40 centimeters) and share the typical visual characteristics seen in other breeds.

The mealy amazon has a total length of about 38–41 cm (15–16 in) and weighs 540–700 g (19–25 oz).

In their natural habitat, these parrots form lifelong pairs. They have a preference for fresh fruits and leafy green vegetables, which provide essential vitamins in their diet. A cuttlebone is a common source of calcium for them. Mealy Amazons enjoy being affectionate and often perch on their owners’ shoulders, eagerly awaiting a gentle scratch.
