INFO AND HEALTH GUARANTEE

At Parrotdize Pet Shop, we ensure the health of our birds by conducting tests to check for various diseases. We guarantee that all our birds are free from Polyomavirus (PVD), Avian Bornavirus (ABV), Proventricular Dilatation Disease (PDD), Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease (PBFD), and Chlamydia psittaci. In fact, we provide paperwork with every bird sold, which confirms their negative test results for these diseases.

When you purchase a bird from us, you can rest assured that it is in good health. We guarantee that there are no signs of disease or parasites at the time of sale. Our birds are completely healthy and free from viral infections, pathogenic bacterial infections, fungal infections, and congenital defects.

For customers who buy weaned birds (those that can eat on their own), we offer a 7-day health guarantee. Within this period, we encourage you to take the bird to an avian veterinarian for a voluntary check-up. If, within the first 7 days, the avian veterinarian declares the bird as unfit for sale (unhealthy), you must provide us with a certificate or paperwork from the veterinarian within 24 hours of the examination. With this documentation, we will either exchange the bird for a healthy one or provide you with a full refund.

It’s important to note that our guarantee does not cover birds that customers have taken and hand-fed themselves. Additionally, if you purchase an unweaned bird and are unable to care for it, we do not offer refunds, exchanges, or free replacements.

If a customer fails to have the bird examined by an avian veterinarian within the 7-day period after pickup or delivery, it is understood and agreed that the sale is final, and there will be no guarantee or refund available for the bird.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us at Support@parrotdize.com

Weaning a baby bird

A weaned bird is defined as a bird that is capable of filling its own stomach (crop) for a minimum of two weeks and can maintain a healthy weight before being taken to its new home. The majority of the birds we sell at Live Parrots Pet Shop are fully weaned, meaning they can eat independently without assistance.

However, there are some birds for which we charge an additional fee for the weaning process. If you are interested in these specific details, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to provide you with more information.

Do birds come with a health guarantee?

When you purchase a weaned bird from us at Parrotdize Pet Shop, you can be confident in its health and well-being. We offer a comprehensive health guarantee for all our weaned birds.

We provide our customers with a 7-day health guarantee, allowing you to take the bird to an avian veterinarian for a check-up. If the avian veterinarian determines that the bird is unfit for sale (not healthy), you must present the certificate or paperwork from the veterinarian to our aviary within 24 hours of the examination. With this documentation, we will either exchange the bird for a healthy one or provide you with a full refund.

Additionally, it’s important to note that all our birds, whether weaned or unweaned, undergo disease testing. We ensure that all our birds test negative for Polyomavirus (PVD), Avian Bornavirus (ABV), Proventricular Dilatation Disease (PDD), Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease (PBFD), and Chlamydia psittaci. Furthermore, we provide paperwork with every bird we sell, confirming these negative test results.

Bringing your new bird home…. (Settling in)

When you get home, put your bird in the cage and let him/her be. He/She needs time to adjust to his/her surroundings. No matter how cute he/she is, how much you want to show him/her off, or how much the kids want to have him/her perch on their fingers, let your bird be.

Give him/her a day of peace to adjust. Offer him/her water, fruits/veggies along with pellets/seed mix as soon as you get home.
